Victorian Blind Refurbishment on one of the oldest listed shopfronts in London

Foxes Fine Wines & Spirits, Moorgate – Victorian Blind Refurbishment. October 2017
We received an enquiry to restore and refurbish a Victorian style trellis arm blind which was built in to the shop front of a listed building. The blind is very old and was no longer operational and had completely seized up.
Due to the fact the building is one of the oldest listed shop fronts in London, we met with a City of London Officer on site to discuss the details of the work we intended to carry out. The officer granted us permission to proceed and the restoration work could begin.
The trellis arms were covered in layers of paint and needed to be taken apart carefully in order to strip them back properly. Once cleaned the original stainless steel was polished up and the arms were rebuilt, we were really pleased with our work.
The front rail was also cleaned and polished to look like new; as you can see from these before (right) and after (left) pictures which really show how Express Sunblinds can effectively restore old Victorian Blinds.
We returned to site to reinstall the blind along with a brand new black acrylic cover. The shop owner was over the moon with the end result and pleased that we were able to bring a piece of history back to its former glory.
